After delivering thrillers that left audiences spellbound, acclaimed director Sriram Raghavan is back with Ikkis, a powerful war biopic starring Agastya Nanda in the lead role. Based on the true story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, a hero of the 1971 India-Pakistan war, the film promises to stir hearts with its patriotic theme.
The much-awaited teaser of Ikkis was unveiled by the makers on May 24, giving a glimpse into the life of a young soldier who made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation. The film is being produced by Dinesh Vijan under the Maddock Films banner.
Agastya Nanda as a War Hero
Agastya Nanda, who has been making headlines since the announcement of the project, steps into the role of Arun Khetarpal — the youngest recipient of India’s highest military honor, the Param Vir Chakra. The teaser pays tribute to Khetarpal’s courage and introduces the viewers to the young warrior’s journey.
Release Date and Star Cast
Ikkis is scheduled to hit the big screens on October 2, coinciding with Gandhi Jayanti — a fitting day to remember a national hero. Joining Agastya in key roles are veteran actor Dharmendra, the talented Jaideep Ahlawat, and debutante Simar Bhatia, niece of Akshay Kumar, who plays the female lead.
The film’s teaser was shared on Maddock Films’ official Instagram with the caption:
