The wait is over. Balasaheb Thackeray’s grandson Aishvary Thackeray is ready to set the big screen on fire with his debut film Nishaanchi, directed by the maverick filmmaker Anurag Kashyap. The makers have unveiled the high-voltage trailer today, and it’s nothing short of a masala entertainer packed with action, romance, drama, comedy, and powerful emotions. The film is all set to hit theatres on September 19.
A Desi Blockbuster in the Making
Nishaanchi transports the audience straight into the colorful chaos of a small town in Uttar Pradesh in the early 2000s. The trailer gives a glimpse of everything that true cinema lovers crave — high-octane action sequences, whistle-worthy dialogues, heartfelt romance, mother’s affection, and plenty of desi drama.
The Story of Nishaanchi
At the heart of this entertainer is Aishvary Thackeray in a challenging double role. He plays twin brothers Bablu and Dabloo, who may look alike but have completely opposite personalities and ideologies. This clash of similarities and differences drives the drama forward, making it a thrilling cinematic ride.
The film is produced by Ajay Rai and Ranjan Singh under the banner of Jar Pictures in association with Flip Films. The story has been crafted by Prasoon Mishra, Ranjan Chandel, and Anurag Kashyap himself.
Aishvary on His Debut Role
Sharing his excitement, Aishvary said:
“Playing twins who are poles apart was an emotionally and physically demanding task. At the same time, contributing to the film’s music made this journey even more special. For me, Bablu and Dabloo are like two sides of my own personality — one represents my acting, the other my music. Under the mentorship of Anurag sir, every scene taught me something new, and now I can’t wait to bring this world to the audience.”
The Supporting Cast
Alongside Aishvary, the film also stars talented actors like Vedika Pinto, Monica Panwar, Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub, and Kumud Mishra in pivotal roles.
With Anurag Kashyap’s signature storytelling, a gripping desi backdrop, and Aishvary Thackeray’s fiery debut, Nishaanchi promises to be a full-on paisa-vasool entertainer.
