Hrithik Roshan and Ayan Mukerji’s much-hyped action drama War 2 is turning out to be one of the biggest disappointments of 2025. Released in theatres on 14th August 2025, the film created massive buzz initially, but the excitement fizzled out soon after its opening weekend. Despite star power and high-octane action, the movie has failed to sustain its momentum at the box office.

15th Day Collection Report

Audiences were eager to witness Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR together on screen for the first time. But the weak storyline pulled the film down, and after a decent weekend run, the collections kept declining.

Made on a massive budget of ₹400 crore, the film has struggled to even reach the ₹250 crore mark in 15 days. According to early trade estimates by SACNILK, War 2 earned only ₹1.50 crore on Day 15 (third Thursday), taking its total collection to ₹231.25 crore net.

Breakdown of Recent Collections:

  • Week 1 Total: ₹204.25 crore
  • Day 9: ₹4 crore
  • Day 10: ₹6.85 crore
  • Day 11: ₹7.25 crore
  • Day 12: ₹2.15 crore
  • Day 13: ₹2.75 crore
  • Day 14: ₹2.5 crore
  • Day 15: ₹1.50 crore

War 2 vs YRF Spy Universe

Despite its star-studded cast featuring Hrithik Roshan, Kiara Advani, and Jr NTR, War 2 has underperformed compared to other films in the YRF Spy Universe. So far, it has managed to surpass only Ek Tha Tiger (2012) at the Indian box office. However, with its current pace, the film looks unlikely to beat Tiger 3 (₹286 crore) to secure the fourth spot in the franchise’s collection list.

Box Office Collection

  • Pathaan (2023): ₹543.22 crore
  • Tiger Zinda Hai (2017): ₹339.16 crore
  • War (2019): ₹319 crore
  • Tiger 3 (2023): ₹286 crore
  • War 2 (2025): ₹231.25 crore
  • Ek Tha Tiger (2012): ₹198 crore

What was expected to be a roaring blockbuster has now turned into a dull affair at the box office. War 2 needed a strong storyline to match its massive scale, but with its collections crashing in the third week, the road ahead looks bleak for Hrithik–Jr NTR’s big-budget entertainer.
