After the success of Saiyaara, the audience’s love for romantic drama films is clearly on the rise. Riding this wave is Dhadak 2, starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Tripti Dimri, which hit theatres recently and has sparked quite the discussion. Tackling the sensitive topic of casteism within a love story framework, the film has earned appreciation from critics for its storytelling, while the public response remains mixed.
What adds to the buzz is Dhadak 2’s direct clash with Ajay Devgan’s Son of Sardar 2 at the box office. Despite strong competition and the dominant presence of Saiyaara, Dhadak 2 is managing to pull audiences into theatres, slowly but steadily carving out its own success story.
5th Day Box Office Collection
Released on the 1st of this month, Dhadak 2 started off with an opening collection of ₹3.5 crores. While it wasn’t a massive start, the film picked up momentum over the weekend. As per reports from Sacnilk, the film earned ₹1.11 crores on its first Tuesday (Day 5). Monday’s collection was also decent at around ₹1.5 crores, indicating a steady hold.

Total Earnings So Far
In its 5-day run so far, Dhadak 2 has achieved a net domestic collection of ₹13.86 crores. Though not record-breaking, the film is showing potential for long-term earnings. With constant comparisons being drawn between Dhadak 2 and Saiyaara, especially since both fall under the romantic drama genre, Ahaan Pandey’s Saiyaara seems to have the upper hand in popularity at the moment.
Still, Dhadak 2’s resilience at the box office hints at a promising future. The big question now is — can it cross the ₹50 crore mark? Only time will tell.
