Renowned fashion designer Manish Malhotra has stepped into the world of cinema with the teaser release of his debut directorial venture, Gustaakh Ishq. The film promises a grand, old-school love saga featuring Vijay Varma, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Naseeruddin Shah, and Sharib Hashmi in pivotal roles.

A Glimpse of Romance & Drama

The teaser paints a vivid picture of passion and intensity, showcasing the deep chemistry between Vijay Varma and Fatima Sana Shaikh. Infused with a vintage charm, the soulful music of Vishal Bhardwaj paired with lyrics by the legendary Gulzar heightens the film’s romantic aura. Adding depth to the story, Naseeruddin Shah appears in a menacing role as the antagonist.

From Ul Jalul Ishq to Gustaakh Ishq

Initially titled Ul Jalul Ishq, the film has now been rechristened as Gustaakh Ishq – Kuch Pehle Jaisa. The theatrical release is set for November this year. Produced under Malhotra’s banner Stage 5 Production, the project is a collaboration with his brother Dinesh Malhotra.

• Vijay Varma, last seen in IC 814: The Kandahar Attack, is also set to appear in the Tamil epic Purananuru (2026).
• Fatima Sana Shaikh recently featured in Aap Jaisa Koi with R. Madhavan and Anurag Basu’s Metro In Dino, alongside a stellar ensemble including Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sen Sharma, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Sara Ali Khan.
