Maa Vande: South Cinema’s Tribute to PM Modi
The extraordinary journey of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always fascinated filmmakers. While Bollywood has already produced films inspired by his life, this marks the first time the South Indian film industry is stepping forward to showcase his inspiring story.

Unni Mukundan’s Heartfelt Note for the Prime Minister
While unveiling the poster, Unni Mukundan also penned a warm birthday wish for PM Modi. He wrote:
“I am extremely happy to announce that I will be playing the role of our Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Damodar Das Modi, in my next film Maa Vande. Growing up in Ahmedabad, I first saw him as our Chief Minister during my childhood. Years later, in April 2023, I had the privilege of meeting him personally — a moment that left a deep impact on me. As an actor, portraying his journey on screen is both exciting and inspiring.”
The actor also recalled Modi’s words during their meeting: “Never bend”, symbolizing the Prime Minister’s unwavering spirit.

A Pan-India Release in All Languages
Maa Vande will be released worldwide in multiple Indian languages, making it a pan-India project that aims to reach audiences across the country. With Unni Mukundan stepping into the shoes of the Prime Minister, fans are eagerly waiting to see how South Indian cinema narrates the life story of one of India’s most iconic leaders.
