The confusion started when Gadar 2 director Anil Sharma said that making Apne 2 without Dharmendra would be extremely difficult. This statement sparked speculation that the film might be cancelled.

To clarify, the makers confirmed that the project is very much on track—just creatively being restructured to adapt to Dharmendra’s absence.
