The name of Pakistani gangster Rahman Dacoit has once again come into the spotlight, this time because of the blockbuster film Dhurandhar. Actor Akshaye Khanna, who portrayed Rahman Dacoit on screen, has received widespread praise for his powerful and intense performance. Now, an unexpected reaction has surfaced from across the border — one that has caught everyone’s attention.

Rahman Dacoit’s Close Friend Praises the Film

A video currently going viral on social media shows Habib Jan Baloch, a close friend of Rahman Dacoit, openly praising Dhurandhar and the Indian film industry. Habib Jan Baloch, a professional lawyer and a nationalist Baloch, shared that he spent a significant part of his life with Rahman Dacoit and felt deeply emotional watching his story portrayed on screen.

Speaking about the film, Habib said that he was so impressed that he watched Dhurandhar twice. He expressed gratitude towards Bollywood, stating,

“What Pakistan couldn’t do, Bollywood has done. For this, I thank the Indian film industry from the bottom of my heart.”

Habib further clarified that while the film presents Rahman Dacoit in a certain light, in real life he was not a villain but a hero of Lyari. He added that Pakistan would always be indebted to figures like Rahman Dacoit and Uzair Baloch, claiming that without them, Pakistan’s condition might have been similar to that of Bangladesh today.

Through his statement, Habib Jan Baloch has strongly appreciated Dhurandhar and its storytelling, calling it a bold and impactful cinematic effort.

It is worth noting that Dhurandhar is based on the backdrop of gang wars and political unrest in Lyari Town, Karachi, during the early 2000s — a period marked by violence, power struggles, and deep-rooted political conflicts.

Dhurandhar Creates Box Office History

The massive success of Dhurandhar is clearly reflected in its box office numbers. Within just 24 days of release, the film has become the highest-grossing Bollywood film in Indian cinema history. Its net collection has touched a staggering ₹730 crore, a milestone no Hindi film had achieved before.

With record-breaking earnings and reactions pouring in from both audiences and real-life figures connected to its story, Dhurandhar has firmly established itself as a landmark film in Bollywood history.
