The much-awaited patriotic blockbuster Border 2 has finally received approval from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Interestingly, the board did not remove any scene or dialogue from the film but instructed the makers to carry out a few technical and informational modifications just a day before its theatrical release. Directed by Anurag Singh, the film is all set to hit cinemas on Friday, January 23.

The star-cast includes Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty in lead roles, with Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, and Anya Singh also playing important characters. Two power-packed trailers and nine songs from the film have already been released. While the trailers created massive buzz, the music received mixed reactions. Still, the excitement among fans remains sky-high as the film showcases the bravery and sacrifice of Indian soldiers on the big screen.

5 Important Changes Suggested by CBFC

According to reports, the censor board asked the filmmakers to implement five significant changes:

  1. The real name of Sunny Deol’s character, Fateh Singh, will now be mentioned in the end credits.
  2. Certain modifications have been made to the depiction of the Indian flag (Tiranga) on fighter aircraft, as per CBFC guidelines.
  3. The name of the warship shown in the film has been changed to ‘Kavach’.
  4. The duration and font size of the tribute text for the brave soldiers have been increased so viewers can read it clearly.
  5. Instructions were also given regarding the military symbols shown on uniforms. However, the makers clarified that these symbols were already verified by the Indian Army and the family of Major Hoshiar Singh Dahiya and found to be accurate.

U/A Certificate and Massive Release

After complying with all the instructions, Border 2 has been granted a U/A certificate. The film’s total runtime is 3 hours, 19 minutes, and 7 seconds. Advance bookings are witnessing an overwhelming response, with more than 1.82 lakh tickets already sold. The film is scheduled to release on around 5000 screens across India, raising strong expectations for a powerful opening at the box office.
