Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh’s much-awaited romantic comedy De De Pyaar De 2 hit theatres on 14 November and opened with promising numbers. Directed by Anshul Sharma and written by Luv Ranjan and Tarun Jain, the film features a stellar cast, including R. Madhavan, Javed Jaffrey, Meezaan Jaffrey, Gautami Kapoor, and Ishita Dutta.
De De Pyaar De 2 Box Office Collection Day 4
The sequel continues the story right from where the 2019 hit left off. This also marks Ajay Devgn’s second collaboration with R. Madhavan after their film Shaitan.
Weekend Box Office Performance:
- Day 1 (Thursday): ₹8.75 crore
- Day 2 (Friday): ₹12.25 crore
- Day 3 (Saturday): ₹13.75 crore
The film enjoyed a strong opening weekend with double-digit earnings. However, the real test came on Monday—and the numbers took a surprising turn.
Day 4 (Monday): Massive Drop in Earnings
On its fourth day, De De Pyaar De 2 collected just ₹2.84 crore, marking a noticeable decline from its weekend performance. After maintaining solid numbers, the film’s sharp fall on Monday raises concerns about its long-term box office run.
Total Collection After 4 Days: ₹37.59 crore
The film still has a long way to go to match the success of the first installment, which crossed the ₹100 crore mark. Whether this sequel can regain momentum in the coming days remains to be seen.
What Is De De Pyaar De 2 About?
In the original film, Ishika (Rakul Preet Singh) falls in love with Ashish (Ajay Devgn), who is twice her age. The story revolves around their age-gap relationship and the chaos that unfolds when Ishika meets Ashish’s family—his estranged wife and two children.
The sequel flips the narrative. This time, Ishika introduces Ashish to her own family, leading to fresh drama, humor, and emotional moments. With its blend of romance and situational comedy, the film aims to recreate the charm that made the first movie a box office favorite.
