Last Friday turned into a high-voltage clash at the box office as not one, but three big films—Jolly LLB 3, Nishanachi, and Ajey—hit theaters simultaneously. With audiences spoiled for choice, the opening weekend results have revealed a clear winner. Let’s dive into how each film performed in this much-talked-about battle.
Ajey
The biopic based on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Ajey, released on September 19 with much anticipation. However, the film failed to strike a chord with audiences. By the end of its first three days, the political drama had earned just ₹1.18 crore domestically, leaving trade experts disappointed.
Jolly LLB 3
The biggest release of the weekend, Jolly LLB 3, starring Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi, completely dominated theaters. Packed with a gripping storyline and powerful performances, this courtroom drama kept audiences hooked. The film has stormed the box office, raking in a whopping ₹53.5 crore in its opening weekend, making it the undisputed winner of the clash.
Nishanachi
Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap’s Nishanachi also joined the Friday lineup but unfortunately couldn’t stand tall against its competitors. Struggling to pull crowds, the film managed a mere ₹85 lakh in its opening weekend, placing it at the bottom of the race.
Box Office Report Card
- Jolly LLB 3 – ₹53.5 crore
- Ajey – ₹1.18 crore
- Nishanachi – ₹85 lakh
Among the three, it’s clear that Jolly LLB 3 emerged victorious, delivering a blockbuster-level opening, while Ajey and Nishanachi struggled to leave an impact.
