Bollywood’s powerhouse performer Rajkummar Rao is back in action, and this time, he’s making waves with his intense gangster avatar in the recently released film Maalik. The gritty crime drama, packed with power, ambition, and betrayal, has managed to captivate the audience, leaving behind fresh releases like Shanaya Kapoor’s debut film Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyaan, also starring Vikrant Massey.

According to box office tracker Sacknilk, Maalik opened to a strong start with a Day 1 collection of ₹4.02 crores in India’s NBOC (Net Box Office Collection). Day 2 witnessed even greater momentum, as the film raked in ₹5.45 crores, taking its domestic total to ₹9.47 crores in just two days. Globally, the film’s collection has already crossed the ₹10 crore mark.

However, Maalik still has a long way to go, considering its estimated production budget of ₹54 crores. But the upward trend at the box office suggests that the film might just have the legs to go the distance.

Set against the rugged backdrop of Allahabad, Maalik dives into a world driven by guns, greed, and loyalty. It’s a gripping tale of power struggles and survival, showcasing the cost of chasing progress in a crime-infested society.

The film is directed by Pulkit, known for blending adrenaline-fueled storytelling with emotional depth. Produced by Kumar Taurani of Tips Films and Jay Shewakramani of Northern Lights Films, Maalik hit the big screens on July 11 and continues to dominate the box office.
