The Gujarati horror-thriller Vash, starring Janaki Bodiwala, Hitu Kanodia, Neelam Panchal, and Hiten Kumar, created a sensation when it released in 2023. The film not only impressed audiences but also bagged the Best Gujarati Feature Film Award, while Janaki Bodiwala earned the National Award for Best Supporting Actress.
From Vash to Shaitan
The gripping storyline of Vash even inspired Ajay Devgn’s Hindi horror-drama Shaitan, which featured Ajay Devgn, R. Madhavan, and Jyothika. The Hindi version explored the terrifying tale of a family trapped by a mysterious man who uses black magic to control them, with the parents fighting desperately to save their daughter. It was a chilling mix of Vashikaran and the supernatural, winning praise for its eerie atmosphere.
Enter Vash Level 2
Now, the much-awaited sequel, Vash Level 2, has finally hit theatres on 27th August. However, unlike the first installment, the sequel is receiving mixed reviews.

On social media, reactions are pouring in:
- One viewer tweeted: “Superb #Vash2, an amazing experience in theatres.”
- Another shared: “#Vash2 is worth watching once. The first half is superb but the second half feels incomplete with a dull climax. #JankiBodiwala shines, #HitukNodia is brilliant. But the intensity of #Vash and #Shaitan is missing.”
- A third user commented: “#VashLevel2 only looks bigger in terms of sets and production. The dark, gripping thrill of the first part is missing. Family watch rating: 6/10.”
What About Shaitan 2?
While discussions around Shaitan 2 have been ongoing for a while, the makers are yet to confirm whether Ajay Devgn’s team will adapt Vash Level 2 for its sequel or move ahead with a completely new storyline.
