The prestigious Padma Awards 2026, among India’s highest civilian honours, have been officially announced by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. This year, a total of 131 distinguished personalities from various fields have been selected, with a strong and remarkable presence from the Indian film industry.

Veteran actor Dharmendra, who ruled the hearts of audiences for over six decades, will be posthumously honoured with the Padma Vibhushan. The legendary star passed away on November 24 last year, and this highest recognition celebrates his immense contribution to Indian cinema. Renowned Malayalam superstar Mammootty will receive the Padma Bhushan for his extraordinary journey and lasting impact on the film world.
