Bollywood star Varun Dhawan is all set to return to the big screen with his upcoming film ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’, releasing on October 2. The romantic entertainer features Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, and Rohit Shroff alongside Varun. Interestingly, the film will hit theaters on the same day as Rishab Shetty’s highly anticipated ‘Kantara Chapter 1’, creating one of the biggest box office clashes of the year.

Production Houses Call the Shots

As soon as the clash was announced, fans expressed concern, wondering whether Varun might be worried about competing with such a strong franchise. During a Twitter Q&A session titled #VarunSays, a fan asked him directly: “Are you worried about Kantara?”

Varun’s reply was calm and confident:

“The release date is decided by the production house. We are just focusing on making our film and trying to entertain you all. I hope everyone will be laughing in the theaters on October 2.”

Varun Opens Up on ‘Bebi John’ Failure

During the same interaction, Varun also addressed questions about his last film ‘Bebi John’, which failed to impress at the box office despite a strong cast featuring Kriti Suresh and Vamika Gabi. When asked why the film flopped, Varun admitted:

“Yes, it didn’t do well. Everyone worked very hard. That’s why the script of ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ is completely new. You all will enjoy it on October 2.”

Two Contrasting Films, One Release Date

On October 2, audiences will get to choose between two completely different cinematic experiences.

  • ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ promises a lighthearted romantic ride filled with fun and laughter.
  • ‘Kantara Chapter 1’, on the other hand, is a mythological drama and a prequel to the 2022 blockbuster ‘Kantara’. Directed by and starring Rishab Shetty, the film also features Gulshan Devaiah, Rukmini Vasanth, and Jayaram in key roles.

With two contrasting genres clashing on the same day, the holiday release is set to be a treat for movie lovers—whether they prefer romance or mythology.
