Ranveer Singh’s much-awaited spy thriller Dhurandhar is all set to hit the big screens on December 5th, and the excitement is at an all-time high. The film’s powerful trailer and gripping songs have already taken social media by storm, building massive anticipation among fans. Director Aditya Dhar, during the trailer launch in Mumbai last month, said that Dhurandhar represents a proud moment for India on the global cinematic stage.
Is Dhurandhar the Biggest Film of the Decade?
Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar is making headlines not just for its cast but also for its massive runtime. Clocking in at 3 hours and 34 minutes, it becomes the longest Indian film in 17 years since Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s Jodhaa Akbar (3 hours 33 minutes) in 2008.
The film has been cleared by the CBFC and is produced by Aditya Dhar himself. The ensemble cast includes Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, and Arjun Rampal, with Sara Ali Khan and Rakesh Bedi in important supporting roles. Ahead of its release, the makers have opened advance bookings—and the response is explosive.
Advance Bookings Skyrocket
According to SacNilk, Dhurandhar has seen a massive 394% jump in advance bookings within just 36 hours.
- By Monday 6 PM: 9,274 tickets sold
- By Wednesday 10 AM: 45,811 tickets sold
The film has already collected:
- ₹2.59 crore (without block seats)
- ₹4.24 crore (with block seats)
This means Ranveer Singh’s latest venture is on track to beat the advance collection of his previous hit Rocky Aur Rani, which recorded ₹3.93 crore. All eyes are now on whether Dhurandhar can set a new benchmark in pre-release sales.
What Is Dhurandhar About?
Set against the dramatic backdrop of the 1999 IC-814 hijacking and the 2001 Parliament attack, the film follows Ajay Sanyal, the chief of India’s Intelligence Bureau. Determined to dismantle a deadly terror network operating from Pakistan, Sanyal masterminds a daring covert mission—one that requires him to recruit the most unexpected ally.
With its intense storyline, powerful performances, and patriotic undertone, Dhurandhar is shaping up to be one of the most gripping films of the year.
